When is Run This City NYC?

How does Run This City NYC work?
Each participant will represent one of the five New York City boroughs. The borough team with the fastest average time (collected from each participant’s timing chip) will be declared the winner.

Do I have to wear the borough specific dri-tech race shirt on race day?
Yes. Your dri-tech race shirt identifies which borough team you are representing. All participants are required to wear their borough specific race shirt on race day.

How many runners will be participating?
Run This City NYC will be capped at 5,000 runners. Each borough team will be capped at 1,000 runners.
Please note: Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Once a borough team is sold out, we are unable to allow any additional runners for that borough. No exceptions.

Can I sign up if I do not live in one of the five boroughs?
Yes. Run This City NYC is open to everyone.

Can I register for a different borough team other than the one live in (i.e. I live in Manhattan, but want to run for Brooklyn)?
Yes. Run This City NYC participants are able to run for any borough team.

How do I know my Start Wave Placement?
Participants will be assigned to an appropriate Start Wave based on the projected finishing time submitted on their entry form. Start Wave assignments will be emailed to participants the week of the race.

When will race results be posted?
Team results will be available online at
www.runthiscitynyc.com and e-mailed to all participants within 24 hours after the race.

Will individual results be posted after the race?
Yes. Individual results will be available online at

Will there be individual awards?
Run This City NYC is a team event. Individual awards will not be awarded. Each participant will represent their borough team for the bragging rights to say: We Run This City!

Where will the Aid Stations be located?
Aid Stations will be located at miles 2, 4, and 6 (finish line).

What is not allowed on the course?
Due to USATF regulations and safety concerns, the following items are not allowed on the course: baby strollers, inline skates, skateboards, bicycles, skateboards, scooters, and dogs.
